Focus of Course

The whole area of Complementary and Alternative medicine is fast becoming widely accepted in all
areas of our society. These therapies have long been accepted and valued by medical practitioners and
hospitals in Britain and are now being introduced into Irish Hospitals. Maternity Hospitals in particular
have a hugh interest in combining complementary therapies as part of their Mother and baby care.
Walmer College & Holistic Centre has trained groups of nurses for the Eastern Health Board and we are
proud to be the college chosen by them.

Many people are keen to work in a caring profession. The college has become aware of the need for a
recognised training course and we are now offering a course specifically designed to suit all with young
people in mind. We have paid particular attention to equip the student with a variety of practical skills
as well as paying attention to the area of personal growth and development.

The college is very much aware of the need for complementary medicine to work alongside orthodox
medicine in helping to balance the mind, body and spirit. The course therefore will be centred around
training the therapist to work in conjunction with the orthodox discipline so that merging these two we
can help people to wholeness and well-being.
