TESTIMONIALS |
Holistic Massage Course:- I was completely new to the field of holistic health when I signed in to the Holistic massage course at Walmer last year. Very soon I began to see all the great benefits of this journey and I truly enjoyed it. The course has been a real life enhancing experience for me. The atmosphere in Walmer is very relaxing and friendly and I met fantastic people: Teachers, other fully qualified health therapists and the other students of the course. Many thanks for this inspirational experience. I'm looking forward to using it in the future. Tanja |
While in San Francisco last year I attended a short course on foot massage. The tutor told me I should pursue massage on my return to Ireland. I made some enquiries from those who had been trained as massage therapists and two had attended the Walmer College. Both were enthusiastic about their experience there. As I am of mature age I was somewhat apprehensive about applying for the course. I visited the College and was very struck by the friendliness of the staff, who gave me time and patiently answered my queries. They were happy people, very positive, professional, enthusiastic and encouraging. They gave time to their students. They cared about them, wanted the best for them but also expected a high standard from them. These qualities are so important for all learners but adult learners embarking on a second career feel more insecure and vulnerable. From my own point of view having arrived back in Ireland at least a month after the Holistic Massage course had commenced I was amazed that Laura conducted special weekend sessions to bring another student and myself up to speed before we joined the rest of the then current cohort of students. Where would you get that kind of flexibility and dedication? When we joined the rest of the class the same friendliness and helpfulness was apparent. They had obviously gleaned the spirit generated by the staff. There was an open door policy if students needed to get further practice within the College they were always welcome. Michelle was more 'front of house' person as well a Tutor and was extremely helpful in dealing with students' queries or concerns. In regard to the theoretical aspect of the course Anatomy and Physiology require more study time than the recommended six hours per week. All Laura's practical sessions were permeated with theory. We imbibed the theory through the practice. Geraldine, the Tutor for Professional Conduct and Business Awareness was so professional, succinct and competent that I can truly say it was one of the best learning experiences of my life. I am very happy to recommend the Walmer College to others who would like to take up a career in this area. D.H. Dublin |
2 week intense Holistic Massage Course:- I would like to thank Laura and Michelle for all their help, patience and encouragement during my two weeks in Walmer. The course was fantastic it was great to cover everything in two weeks. As I am a reflexologist it was great to get another treatment to offer my clients and to have the whole course covered so quickly. The girls in Walmer always go that extra mile, to ensure you are happy and are always willing to help even after the course. Thanks Claire Meeley |
