I.T.E.C Lectures :- As part of some courses a variety of lectures will be given on the following:Sports massage Osteopathy Personal Growth and development – this will be ongoing throughout the course where focus will be on the integration of all aspects of the student’s personality – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual to produce a well-adjusted competent and responsible individual. Course Attendance 90% attendance on this course is required in order to be able to complete the examinations although 100% commitment is advisable. The Examining Board: I.T.E.C. The external examining body used by the Walmer College & Holistic Centre is the International Therapy Examining Council. The qualifications awarded by this body are recognised worldwide. I.T.E.C. was founded in 1956 in England and now examines for PRIVATE schools, Colleges of further and higher education and Universities in England and worldwide. The I.T.E.C. Anatomy Physiology and Massage examinations are recognised by all universities as pre-entry qualifications for Degree courses and by all democratic professional societies and associations for membership. All insurance companies recognise I.T.E.C. qualifications for public and professional liability policies and I.T.E.C. is listed in the F.E.S.R. register and at the Department for Education and Science. AN ITEC Diploma is equivalent to FETAC Level 5 Qualification The Walmer College has information available regarding association membership and insurance scheme for post graduates. Walmer College require waiver forms to be filled in during study periods. Examinations: I.T.E.C. Anatomy Physiology 2 hour multiple choice paper Massage Diploma 1 hour multiple choice paper 1 hour practical examination including oral examination 20 case histories Unit 22.1 Professionalism, Ethics, Business Matters 1 hour multiple choice paper Aromatherapy Diploma 1 hour multiple choice paper 1 hour practical including oral examination 40 hours case histories Diet & Nutrition Diploma for Complementary Therapists 1 hour multiple choice paper 10 hours case histories Reflexology Diploma All students sit AOR/AQA level 3 Diploma in Reflexology. There are two components 1. Two hour written paper 2. Continuous assessment of course work impractical reflexology skills based on evaluation of a minimum of 60 treatments. Optional students may sit ITEC level 3 Diploma in Reflexology 3 Exams: ITEC Level 3, Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology, ITEC Level 3, Diploma in Reflexology, ITEC Level 2, Professional Conduct and business awareness. 40 hours case histories |
