Walmer Association CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. What is CPD ? It aims to ensure that Professionals maintain and update their skills and experience so as to keep fully abreast of developments within the Industry. Walmer Association is affiliated with O'Brien & Finley Insurance, and as part of their criteria, Members will be required to attain 100 CPD points each year to renew membership. There are several ways for each member to attain their points throughout the year to renew Walmer Membership. All extra points that have been gained within the year will automatically be carried forward to the following year. Distinction between Two Types of CPD. One maintains and updates clinical competence usually specific to an individual profession. Other focuses on developing areas of personal skills i.e. Stress Management, Public Relations, Energy Workshops. There are many organisations that have CPD points in place such as IRI and will be recognised when presented to Walmer Association. Scheme for Continuous Professional Development Points Under this scheme, all members of Walmer Association will be required to attain 50 points each year in order to renew their membership. I have tried to make the attainment of required points as simple as possible. To minimise administration hours, the scheme will operate on an honour system. That will require each member to send in a brief description of the course/event they have attended throughout the year. When a membership renewal form is issued, it will also contain a log sheet for the next year. There are several ways for each member to attain their points and all extra points will automatically be carried forward to the next year. The basis of the scoring draws upon similar schemes in place in organisations such as IRI and EMBODY (ITEC professionals). New Qualifications, I.T.E.C, C.I.B.T.A.C Beauty, Sports, Aroma, Reflex, Diet & Nutrition. Indian Head, Lomi Lomi Massage. Over 30 hours - 200 Points Attained Under 30 hours - 100 Points Attained Certified assessed courses in a Recognised treatment: Advanced waxing, Harley Body Wrap, Hopi Ear Candling, Reiki 80 Points Attained 2 Day Workshop: (Intro to / refresher) 80 Points Attained Presenting a workshop 50 Points Attained Presenting a lecture 25 Points Attained Attendance at AGM With Lecture or Workshop - 30 Points Attained Meeting only - 20 Points Attained Courses for Personal growth i.e. Reclaim your inner light, Tai Chi, Soul Coaching, Fengshui 50 Points Attained 1 Day workshop i.e At Face Value, Thai Massage, Expand your Strokes 50 Points Attained |
